    This is NOT just another book of Pipe Tunes.  It contains :

                                      a.  74 PIPE TUNES; including

                                      b.   HARMONIES for 31 of them; and

                                      c.   DRUM SETTINGS for 23 tunes by Greg Dinsdale

    This music has been arranged into 9 different "ready-to-play" medleys that will suit Bands of varying standards.  Or, you may choose to "mix 'n match" tunes  or sections of the medleys to accommodate your requirements.

    Example #1 shows a sample of a "Medley Page"- which, for that Medley, lists the tunes, details their sequence, those with Harmonies and/or Drum Settings, etc.;  and Example #2 is a sample of the format and typesetting for a tune from that Medley.  To view the Examples, click on the applicable button below.

    For 21 of the tunes, special Orchestral Arrangements have been written by (and are available from) Peter Brennan, London, Ontario.           

    All 21 of these tunes have been played by the London Police Pipes & Drums, in concert with Orchestra London, during the years 1994 to 2004.

    A CD accompanies the book on which Archie plays the tunes on a practice chanter, and Greg plays his Drum Settings to 23 of the tunes - on a practice pad.  You will also hear suggested segues from one tune to another.

    This Book also contains:

      a. Information and notes on many of the tunes;

      b. Lyrics for 5 of the tunes;

      c. Fifteen photographs;

      d. Suggestions for some innovative "Attacks" and "Breaks";

      e. Some History of: 

                    (1) Piping and Highland Games,

                    (2) The Piobaireachd Society Gold Medal (Canada), and

                    (3) The Hendrie Gold Medal for Piobaireachd;

     f. Pipe Music for Some Ceremonial Occasions (Weddings, Funerals,             etc);  and

     g. A Tree of Famous Piping Families.

    A veritable "FOUNTAIN OF MUSIC ",  Information and Ideas - that will suit MANY Pipers, Drummers, and Pipe Bands - and will provide a "musical challenge" for more advanced players.
